The McNatt Farm is nestled into the peninsula between the Maryland mainland and the ocean.
I was there to do an arial survey of the fields. It was a cloudy late spring day and the corn was only a few inches high. It was around 7:00 am. There was a sweet breeze and the threat of rain in the air.
Looking around the pastures it was easy to hear the soundtrack from Braveheart playing in my head. I’m sure it influenced the way I shot the rest of the day day.
When I reviewed all my clips and started to edit, I couldn’t help but put a Scottish/Irish twist to it. Imagine standing on the side of a rocky cliff in Scotland. Looking down at your pastures. The corn, the wheat, the chickens (chickens?). In the end I think Mr. McNatt appreciated the approach. I hope it left him proud of all he has accomplished.
If you love bagpipes, you’ll love this. If not, well, there’s a whole bunch of stuff on the internet, so I get it if you bail.
But a man needs to see his land.
